Woodland Auto Display
The Woodland Automobile Display is a museum in Paso Robles, California, which showcases vintage, classic, and historic vehicles. The museum's primary focus is racing vehicles, with a concentration of NASCAR, Sprint, Modified, Super Modified and Midget race cars. The Woodland Auto Display is located on the grounds of the Estrella Warbird Museum at the Paso Robles Municipal Airport in central California. The Woodland Auto Display was opened to the public on July 19, 2009. Originally just under 5,000 square feet of display area, it has grown rather extensively and currently features over 18,000 square feet of covered display area. Another 7,000 square feet of restoration shop is located off site.
Most of the vehicles on display have been restored to the original condition as when first built. Some of the cars came off the track and required little to no restoration, while some were restored to pristine condition after being rolled, wrecked, worn out or demolished. In addition, the Woodland Auto Display also features an extensive collection of automotive and racing memorabiia, which adorns the walls and standup displays throughout the facility. Vehicles driven or built by racing legends the likes of Billy Vukovich, Frank Kurtis, George Shilala, Parnelli Jones, Kara Hendrick, Kenny Van Blargen, Don Edmunds, Jimmie Oskie, Anthony Simone, Grant King, Jeff Gordon, Bobby Unser, Al Pumbo, Frank Secrest, Mario Andretti, and numerous others can be found among the incredible display.
Founded by local businessman and 2018 Inductee to the West Coast Stock Car/Motorsports Hall of Fame, Richard "Dick" Woodland, the collection also includes numerous well known vintage and classic automobiles, along with preserved historical motorcycles.
